Founded in 1992, William International (HK) Co. Ltd. was initially established to provide sanitation services and general maintenance services for the Grade A offices in Hong Kong. Today, William International is present with core businesses across construction and maintenance, human resources, customer services, airport services, and transportation services. William International has implemented a comprehensive high-level cleaning and maintenance exercise fir Ceiling Soffit Panel at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) amid the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown. The cleaning work includes cleaning of the ceiling at Terminal 1, in both the restricted and non-restricted areas. The total ceiling area of Terminal 1 is 172,000m², equivalent to almost 24 football fields. WIHK spent much time on project planning to overcome the difficulties and complexity created by the unique arc-shaped ceiling soffit. To completely conduct cleaning at different required areas, WIHK has deployed up to 10 Aerial Work Platforms for the entire project, which the highest one was 39m tall. To mitigate the risk for our specialists to work at 30m high, WIHK prioritized safety across the operations. WIHK formulated a Safety Team, with certificated Safety Supervisors and Safety Officer, to conduct inspection, daily briefing, and supervision in a regular manner. The project was completed successfully in cooperation with Project Manager, Safety Team and Cleaning Supervisors.

2020 is a year full of challenges. Hong Kong International Airport and related industries are also encountering unprecedented difficulties. Learning from the experience of “SARS” in 2003, William International has responded to the crisis with relevant contingency and emergency policies. William International is committed to working through the difficulties with our employees. A series of emergency measures are provided to employees to ensure a clean and safe working environment. At the same time, we wish to maintain necessary services to uphold our promises to clients. Emergency measures include: Arrange manpower to measure the body temperature. Those with body temperature higher than 37.5°C should not be allowed to work in office. The personnel department pays close attention to the list of confirmed cases announced every day. Once a confirmed case is found in the building where the employee lives, he/she must be immediately quarantined until the test result is negative Encourage colleagues to proactively report whether they have contact with the confirmed person Strengthen the cleaning and disinfection of all departments of the company The staff of the cleaning department need to perform tests and make sure that they have not been in contact with the confirmed person before they can go to work Employees must wear masks, wear gloves and reduce contact with guests Site supervisors and project managers step up inspections to ensure that the workplace is clean and employees follow instructions Provide employees with protective clothing and disinfection suppliesProvide support for employees who work from home and who need to be isolated
